Transforming Suffering
An Interview with Basil Pennington

PT: Is there anything that you want to add about suffering?

Pennington: It is extremely important to have hope. The evolution of human consciousness has gone on for hundreds of thousands of years, and is a powerful movement. Divine Creative Energies, which are pure love, are at the base of this movement. Humanity, in its evolutionary course, has gone through terrible periods, yet has moved on and on. We are at a fairly high level of human consciousness in the rational period we live in. More and more people realize that we have to move to a more integrated level. One of the enormous challenges lying ahead of us is the full equality of men and women and the full integration of the masculine and feminine dimensions of our being. This will make an enormous difference in the way the human family lives and functions. Hopefully, we will be much more peaceful. That integration is a coming together as a human family, a human community. We are most empowered and find the greatest possible security and the fullest happiness in community when we embrace each other as brothers and sisters, as children of the Father.

Each of us needs to live the hope, realizing that we are in this wonderful evolving course. Even if there is suffering and struggle in the course of it, the grain of wheat that falls on the ground comes forth with a hundred grains; it is in process.

A MEDITATION ON
Experiencing His Victory 

You have read much about Victory. You have read much about Victory.  This Stage in your Spiritual Growth enables you to experience tiny victories daily in the ways in which you live your life. Our Love, fully alive in you 24/7, enables these Victory Experiences to rise up in you in such a manner that you celebrate victories again and again throughout your life in the world of temporary. 

Initiate, Trust, Love, Surrender and Resurrection are the central building blocks of establishing your relationship with Me and then allowing that relationship to flourish intimately and internally within you. Let's look at these elements.

 INITIATE

I call to all souls. I initiate contact. I use any and all means to attract the attention of even the world's greatest sinners. I then wait for you to show a willingness to respond to My Call. I wait for you to initiate your response to Me. Then We begin to relate.

 TRUST

 I know that all My friends have to learn to trust the particular ways in which We relate. It is scary to think of Me as being do personal as to initiate contact with Me experientially, internally and on a daily basis. You don't know what to make of such a thing.

Your first response is to run and hide. I understand this. Thus I move gently and slowly. I coax you back to Me. I reinforce who it is that touches you. I reassure you that you are not insane. I find just the right ways to convince you that what you are experiencing is quite real.

I identify Myself. I am Jesus the Messiah. I speak in you with the assent of The Father through the Power of Our Mutual Love - The Most Holy Spirit. I reinforce this repeatedly. I know that you will come out of your shell of fear into the Sacred Safe Haven of Infinite Love. I do not care how long it takes in your time for you to trust Me. I have eternity. My friend, so do you.

 LOVE

You think you know what love is. I tell you that you do not. You approach love from your limited human abilities. I have My Divine Perspective on Love that I share openly and unashamedly in you daily. I surprise you by My Love. That is because you do not understand My Love. How could you? My Love is Divine. You are human. You will never understand My Love.

It just is! I call you to explore Life in My Love. I call you into a Relationship with the Unknown God who loves you always. I am with you all days and in all ways. I am with you beyond days.

I am Forever. Time means nothing to Me. I am the Love that always is. I allow you to touch My Love. I allow you to experience My Love internally daily. I call you to receive My Timeless Love physically daily in Eucharist at Mass. I mix My Divinity with your humanity. I change you by My True Presence in you. I do what you cannot do. I resurrect you by the Love that always is.

 RESURRECTION

I lift you out of time when you receive My True Presence in the Eucharist. I bring you beyond temporary into the Love that always is. I give you Touches from Eternity while you still walk in the world of temporary. I bring you closer and closer to Me. I let you take up residence in My Sacred Heart. I fill you with the Love that is My New Life in you. I resurrect you in My New Life.

 INTIMACY

I make you family. I integrate all that I do in you in your life in your world into a cohesive whole in the New Life for you that We create in Love, with Love and through Love. That moment in your time when you receive My True Presence in the Eucharist is the epitome of Intimacy with Me.
Come now. Be in Communion with Me.
