THE HOLY SPIRIT

 HOLY DESIRE

St. Augustine taught that the Christian life consists essentially in holy desire.  How much more can we say that the life in the Holy Spirit must begin with the desire for the Holy Spirit to be present and fully operative in our lives. 

Scripture teaches us that the Holy Spirit is so essential to Our Christian lives that no one can say that Jesus is Lord except in the power of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 12:3); that the Holy Spirit cries within us Abba, Father – dear Father (Rom 8:14-17); and that we do not know how to pray as we ought but that the Holy Spirit prays within us through groans and inexpressible sounds (Rom 8:26-27). 

This is truly amazing. The Holy Spirit does the praying, reveals the Father and cries out to him and enables us to proclaim in faith that Jesus Christ is truly Lord.  What should we then expect and seek of the Holy Spirit?

A MEDITATION ON
 BE ON FIRE FOR ME! 

Being on fire for Me is a gift.  I give willingly it to anyone who is willing to forsake all things of this world and follow Me. You are such a person. The fire I give inspires you to go for more of Me. It is an insatiable appetite for My presence. It is a hunger deep within that is never satisfied with anything less than My presence.This fire enables you to fight off the early morning cobwebs to seek Me out in meditation. You become like a spoiled child hitting the table with his spoon crying out, "I want My Maypo." Instead you cry out, "I want more Jesus." So, more you shall have.

We are touching even as you write. I tell you now. You need to learn to speak up! I wasn't that clear as to what you want. Oh! You want more of Me. So be it! 

The power of My fire clears all the decks within you. It consumes distractions. It brings you to your knees in supplication before Me. It drives you to be bold in prayer to Me. I understand this boldness. It is borne of centuries of members of your generational tree seeking Me out.

I feel your fire. I love your zeal. What great faith you have. My gift to you has taken hold in fertile soul. Your garden grove is alive in the colors of My rainbow of love. Welcome loving one! Welcome My Firebrand. You are not too hot for Me to handle. You may be unmanageable at times. At those times, I just step out of the way and let the power of My love lead you on.

 Lead it will! Lead it will!

Wait Patiently On The Lord 

Blessed are those who patiently wait for the will of the Lord in their lives. Blessed are they even more who chomp at the bit and seek to rush ahead but slow their entire being waiting on the will of the Lord.  

Blessed are they who have been verbally and/ physically assaulted who refrain from striking back at those whose venom has spilled over on them. They hold a special place in My heart. They restrain themselves and return quiet tolerance to their abusers. They do My will in showing by actions My love where retribution was expected. Only those rich in their spirit through the infusion of love from My Sacred Heart can show such restraint and love. 

Blessed are they who in their loneliness turn to Me for comfort and love. They shall receive the full measure of My Comforting Love.  My presence within their hearts will fill the hole in their heart. 

Loneliness is only loneliness for those who do not know I am their life's companion. It is I who stifles the tears forming in the eyes. It is I who touches the empty ache in the hearts of the lonely and make them feel loved and prized. Loneliness can turn to a love story in My True Presence. This love story has a happy ending.

I am your constant companion through all of eternity. Blessed are they who learn that in all things My will is to be done. This attitude of surrender prevails in their hearts. They come to know true happiness. They live forever in the fire of My love forever and ever. 

Know this. This paraphrasing of My Beatitudes is a prescription for happiness in this world and the next. Nothing can ever undermine the spirits of those who follow My love prescriptions in their lives.
