The heart of Christianity does not consist in knowing about God; the heart of Christianity is coming to know God personally – especially in His Son, Jesus, who is the fullness of the Father’s revelation. Christians must “break through: to that spiritual realm of His Kingdom where they experience for themselves that Jesus: is alive, real, speaks to them, heals
them, helps them, fills them, needs them, uses them, wishes to send them out.” 

The central message of all four Gospels is LET JESUS BE JESUS FOR YOU. Christianity is not primarily a head trip (all doctrine), an ethic (Laws to be practiced) or a religion (a set of rituals to be observed.)  Christianity is an ongoing relationship with a loving God. Therefore, God is not primarily a Divine Mind, nor a judge, nor a supreme being, but a loving Father made manifest in His Son.  

Jesus came to bring us Life more abundantly. Life is a relationship with the source of life and that’s the Father.  Because Jesus is the total receptivity and reflection of the Father, Life is also a relationship with Jesus.

Key question for all of us is 

 “HOW ABOUT YOU, WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM?” 

JESUS LOVES ME  THIS I KNOW BECAUSE OF THE LIVING WORD! 

John3:16 – God so loved the world that He gave His only son that whoever believes in him may not perish but have life forever.  

Isaiah 43:  I love you. I call you by name.  When you walk through the fire you shall not be burned.  When you are overwhelmed… you shall not drown.  For you are precious in my eyes and honored.  I forbid you to be afraid.”  

John 15 and 16 paraphrased.“Just as much as the Father loves Jesus, that’s how much Jesus loves Me.” 

It is one thing to believe that God loves you. It is quite another to experience it personally. This is one, big reason for the Incarnation. We have a God with a face, and a heart, and outstretched hands who is reaching out to hold us, hug us, love us, embrace us, comfort us and draw us to him.  

A breakthrough moment comes in the form of a sense of His Presence in you. This is the meaning of Christmas:  

Christ is born in our hearts.
Love incarnate has come to us. 

JESUS LOVES YOU AS YOU ARE, NOT AS YOU SHOULD BE.
JESUS LOVES THE PERSON YOU ARE NOW!

A MEDITATION ON
KNOWING ME AS THE LOVE
OF YOUR LIFE   

That is Me trying to get in touch with you while you are in prayer before Me.  I may rise up to your conscious reality by giving you a sense of My Presence in you in the form of Peace-filled Silence.  I always find a way to make those that freely choose to be with Me in their hearts know that I am alive and well and dwelling in them.You say, “Wait a minute. Who is that speaking to Me? This is not me speaking to me or is it?” 

I know.  Everyone says the same thing when they finally realize that I am truly alive in them and I make them conscious of My True Presence in them.  They head for the nearest shrink.  At best, they make a conscious decision not to come back to be with Me.  It is just too upsetting for them to realize that I, Jesus the Messiah, would actually make My True Presence known in them. 

I ask such scared rabbits. “Did not My Father and I send Our Most Holy Spirit to dwell in you on Pentecsost Sunday.  Is not Our Spirit the gift of the indwelling of Love Eternal? Have you not cultivated the habit of being with Me daily in prayer?  Haven’t you aggressively sought Me out in your daily prayer life? Did you think you were speaking to the wind?  Did you think that you were alone when you were in prayer? 

Thus, calm down.  I won’t hurt you. I just want you to recognize who it is that speaks in you in this manner at this very moment in your life. How many times in Scripture have I said, “Be not afraid!”  Well! I am saying that again. I ask you this. 

Is it not possible for Me to do anything that I wish? Am I not God? Do I not have freedom to speak in you as I please.  Oh! I am using words now because I want to explain to you what is going on in you at this very moment.  However, I may not always use words.  I have an infinite array of ways to come to you and to speak in your heart daily.  I even have a secret.  I do not need you to be in church for Me to make My True Presence known to you.

All I wish to tell you is that I Love you.  I say it in an infinite number of ways within you.  If I were to push you a bit, you would be able to identify those times when something special occurred in you that you could not explain.  My friends, I am that Special Unexplainable Something that rose to your awareness.  

I usually make my presence known first of all when an individual is in crisis.  That happens because they are backed up against a brick wall and do not seem to know how to get out of the situation in which they find themselves. All I am doing now is bringing those situations to mind within your life experience when you became aware that there was something more happening within you that you could not control or understand. 

Don’t strain your memory. I will bring these memories to the surface.  I will convince you that We have been interacting for years. The only difference now is that I am being obvious about it.  I want to make sure that you have to admit that I am alive and dwelling in you and I do interact with you 24/7. 

I know that We only encounter difficulties with you when your will and Our Will collide.

 TRUST ME

Trust Me. Love Me. Walk with Me. Do what I lead you to do. Discern My Will for you. I never abandon you. I go with you in all you do. I know your humanity rebels. I know it places constraints on what you think you can do.  

Lean gently against such constraints. Expect success. I say no more on this matter.

  I RENEW YOUR BEING

 I am your inner strength. I enable you to persevere when you want to rest. I gently urge you to move ahead. I tell you fatigue is in your head. I am not a harsh task master. I break a schema you carry. I tell you to move on. I know your humanity lies to you. I show you physically what is true.

Say the Our Father. Be strengthened by Our Words. Our will is done on heaven and earth. Experience Our Rebirth physically. Be nourished by Our True Presence in the Eucharist.

Come. Be in Communion with Us.

 Pause

I am The Bread of Life. I lead you through verdant pastures. I protect you from harm. I let you see My Strength in you. I heal you of your infirmity. Be still in My Now. Let My Bread of Life nourish you. Let My Blood of Love renew you.

Oh My friend! I love you with a Love that is forever renewing you spiritually, mentally and physically. I restore your being. I heal you of your human constraints. Walk with Me through your today. Trust what I do in you today. My Love renews your being. My Love refreshes you.

I WALK WITH YOU

It is not easy following Me. Your humanity rebels! You have to fight off old ways of thinking about yourself. It is hard to let go of those comfortable old thoughts about you. It is hard enough to conceive something new. It is almost impossible to act on these new thoughts. All I ask is that you try to respond differently to obstacles that come your way. How else can you break away from old views of you that do their best to imprison you?

Thus I call you to act and not think. I call you to respond to Me schema free. I will show you the way. I will help you in your today. I enter your fray. I show you My Way. I am not all talk. I also walk the walk. I fell three times on the way to Calvary. I got up each time. I knew the pain of defeat. Yet I got to My Feet. I knew what was ahead for Me. Yet, I got up. I walked the walk just for you. This is not all talk. This is My Resurrected Love strengthening your will. Come. Pick up your cross. Walk with Me a little longer. I am your inner strength. I am the Love that saves you.
