Why Are You a Christian?

Response: because Christ has come to meet me.

It was not I who initiated the meeting, but he. Ever since my Baptism, without my knowing it, he has taken possession of me , mysteriously.  Then, little by little, his life has grown in me through the sacraments I have received, especially the daily celebration of the Eucharist. 

Step by step, he led me to the fullness of His life in me, revealing himself to me ever more fully through his inspired Word, read, reread, meditated on, and translated into images, in the lives of the saints who allowed themselves to be formed by him.

For my part, he continues, while I remain totally free, I can only say that I feel ashamed at my failure to respond to grace, and I marvel at the constancy of the Saviors’ unfailing love which goes beyond my weakness and poverty.

This personal and faithful love has been particularly evident to me in the course of certain events of my life, especially during those “chance” occurrences which are said to disguise the workings of Providence. 

I have experienced this many times: in an encounter here, a coincidence there, the same attentive, ingenious presence was there, calling the tuned. 

The world is at once dark and bright.  For me the Powers of Evil are not a myth, but the darkness does not prevent me from believing in the sun, in its light or in its heat.  God, who is both truth and love, remains for ever the sun of our lives and it is Jesus who has revealed this to me. 

Why am I Christian? I would have to reply that it is because Christ Jesus took possession of me at the outset of my life and has become for me and in me, “the Way, the Truth and the Life. I feel like proclaiming it in song with Mary’s Magnificat. 

A MEDITATION ON
GROWING UP SPIRITUALLY  

This is a process that extends throughout your life span in the world of man. It is not something that happens overnight in your time. It is a recurring battle each day to deliberately and forcefully freely choose to pursue the Love that dwells in the depth of your being. 

That is what every friend is called to do.  Every person is asked in the quiet of his/her heart to surrender their free will to Me for just a few moments each day so that in some way I may change their human view of life to My Mind for them.  I wish to slowly but surely take the good will of each person and transform it into the Peace that is Life in My Love. 

Is this foolish fancy?  Are you just imagining that this is what I say in you.  Is this just your personal imagination getting the best of you daily or are you finally getting to understand the statement that “My sheep know My voice?” 

The answer to that question emerges each day a little at a time as you walk with My Love guiding you from within 24/7. I write My Words on your heart.  Did I not promise to do so in Scripture? Is that not part of My prediction of what will happen to those that follow My Will in their lives? 

My friends, this is no fanciful imaginative ploy to have you accept insanity within your being.  This is no idle use of your inner stream of consciousness. This is My Love calling to you daily and asking you to come deeper and deeper into My Love even though you can never understand My Love. 

Each step that you freely choose to take towards Me enables you to grow in the Love that always is within you.  You pass through your personal intimate developmental process of learning to live forever more in the Love that always is. You begin to accept as real the journey that you are taking from temporary to forever as your transitional process governed by the Love of Our Most Holy Spirit who dwells in you beyond time forever more.  

My friends, this is not science fiction. This is not Invasion of the Body Snatchers.  This is My Reality for humanity being played out within your psyche 24/7 as your walk through life in the world of temporary.

CULTIVATING
MY SEEDS OF LOVE 

My friend! I see all that you do for Me. I bless your efforts My Way. Hold onto these words. They will help you in times of doubt.

I do not do all you expect or want Me to do not only in your work for Me but in life generally. I disappoint you at times. That is because your expectations are not Mine. I know you are doing fine. I see the inroads your efforts make for Me. I am quite pleased. Thus, let go of your expectations. They cause you inner distress. Accept My Assessment of your work for Me.  Recognize that change occurs slowly.

Let Me ask you this. Did you change overnight? Was inner change a bed of roses? Well the same is true when I use your devotion to Me to change others. Change is never immediate. It does not matter what your expectations may be.

Look at history. What has happened since the beginning of time in terms of humanity's relationship with Me? How has humanity changed since evil crucified My Son? Were there overnight successes? Of course not! At least not in human terms!

My friends! I am content with the seeds you cast for Me. They do not have to have monumental or instant success. I take what I can get. All I ask of you is that you try your best. Success is Mine to assess.

We do battle for souls on a one at a time basis. Some days We win ground. Other days it is hard to see what effect your efforts have. All that matters is that together We cast out seeds. Does this help?

ANSWERS TO PRAYERS

Knock and a door will be open. Ask and you shall receive. You forget this at times. I never forget My Promise to you. I know My friends. I see what they do. They, like you, who labor in My Vineyard, lose sight of My Promise. Thus you lose faith in Me. You wonder when I will deliver on My Promises to you.

My friends! I have already delivered more than you requested. You just do not see this as yet. You see. I never forget My Promises. I always respond to each and every request that you make of Me. I do this My Way timelessly. Thus, be not afraid to ask for even the tiniest need of your heart. I always answer each prayer.

You tend to lose sight of this. You get so involved in your things. You ask. You expect instant responses. Yet such instant responses may not be in your best interests. Thus, you get discouraged. I tell you to persevere. Reach out for Me in faith daily. Persevere! Come to Me in prayer. Receive Our Response in the Eucharist you freely choose to receive. Receive Peace internally. That is Our Immediate Response.

Now come to the altar. Receive Timeless Love physically. Be nourished Eucharistically. Be in Communion with Us.

I am the Bread of Life. I am The Blood of Love. I renew you physically. I strengthen your inner resolve. I disperse doubt and fear. I mix My Divinity within your humanity. I renew you. I refresh you. I change your perspective. I teach you more about My Love. I demonstrate internally that I never abandon My friends. I show you internally. I am a God of My Word. Your persistent prayers are always heard.
